Last updated on DECEMBER 06, 2021
Applies to:
Sun Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) - Version 11.9.0 to 11.11 [Release 11.0]Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86 (32-bit)
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (32-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)
Symptoms
The root disks of the server are mirrored with Solaris Volume Manager software.
After the reboot the server can not boot and panics continuously with
Changes
"metadb -d" commands were done before the reboot to delete the latest replicas (metadb) on the disks
# metadb -i
==> nothing is returned
Another potential change causing such a problem is, that the server has been newly encapsulated in SVM,
but the default boot-device does not match the device that has been encapsulated.
