Found in /var/adm/messages log: NOTICE: Optimizing Interrupt Assignments
(Doc ID 1506410.1)
Last updated on JULY 07, 2023
Applies to:
Solaris Operating System - Version 11.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
We see this in the /var/adm/messages log:
The following Bug was opened because that message happened too frequently:
Bug 15815588 - SUNBT7197933-12.0 SSC "Optimizing interrupt assignments" seen in /var/adm/messages
The bug will be fixed in Solaris 11.2, so installing Solaris 11 Update 2 should make it stop.
The other messages indicate that intrd determined that there was a need to balance interrupts but is giving us a heads-up that it wasn't able to do so as well as it would have wanted to; this could be down to a CPU having a high number of interrupts with these interrupts (or better to say at least some of them) showing a high interrupt load.
If the customer does update to Solaris 11.2, and the other messages are still seen, they should be added to Bug 15815588.
