Disk I/O performance in a Guest LDOM is less than to a physical I/O device
(Doc ID 1507158.1)
Last updated on AUGUST 31, 2023
Applies to:
Solaris Operating System - Version 11.1 to 11.1 [Release 11.0] Solaris Operating System - Version 10 to 11 u1 10/12 [Release 10.0 to 11.0] Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Symptoms
When you perform storage I/O tests (e.g. with dd(1), vdbench or other tools) and measure the I/O data throughput (e.g. with iostat(1))
in a guest LDOM on a virtual disk
on the actual physical device in the primary or control LDOM
then you might notice that the I/O performance is higher in the second situation.
