Solaris Hangs After Enabling Resource Pools on SPARC T-series Systems
(Doc ID 1529254.1)
Last updated on JULY 07, 2023
Applies to:
Solaris Operating System - Version 10 10/08 U6 and laterOracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Symptoms
Solaris hangs after enabling resource pools - see pooladm(1M). The hang may not occur immediately. A crash dump taken with the system in this state will show all CPUs idle in function pause_cpus() during an operation to move a CPU between processor sets, e.g. via function pool_pset_xtransfer().
Changes
Resource pools were enabled, either during boot using configuration in /etc/pooladm.conf or via pooladm(1M).
