SL150 - Error : "Magazines Not Latched" 9081, Library Will Not Initialize Due to Serial Number Mismatch (Doc ID 1539657.1)

Last updated on JULY 25, 2022

Applies to:

StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Note:
As each component is replaced, such as Robot, Op Panel, KLM. Serial number can be lost without a successful library initialization between part replacement. Reason is the flash stick housing library serial number are in these 3 locations and 2 of 3 flash sticks must match, otherwise library will not initialize without taking drastic steps of remotely re-programming the flash stick using Eng userid (only L2 and engineering) using webex session.

*** Workaround ***If for any reason the replacement part did not fix the problem and did not initialize library, put the original part back in and capture a log bundle. Engage L2 support before replacing another part.

Symptoms

Decoded:
9081 MAG_MULTIPLE_OPEN_OR_UNLATCHED Multiple magazines have been opened or unlatched.

Replaced the robot and magazines but did not resolve the issue.

The actual error can be misleading as the problem is related to a serial number issue.
