Goal
Sometimes it is necessary to shrink a Solaris Volume Manager metadevice for an existing file system. Similar to the approach how we can expand an existing file system.
BUT shrinking an SVM existing file system is NOT possible. Also when you have expanded the file system before you can NOT shrink the file system.
Therefore this document explains the steps for a workaround to shrink a Solaris Volume Manager file system.
