Goal

To discuss this information further with Oracle experts and industry peers, we encourage you to review, join or start a discussion in the My Oracle Support Community - Disk Storage ZFS Storage Appliance

Customer has lost root password of his appliance. He cannot login to it using BUI or CLI (SSH) but still has access to the SP console.

The goal of this document is to describe how to get 'root' access to the system again, without loosing the data on the storage (but accepting a considerable amount of downtime).

If a factory reset is necessary and a previous configuration backup was taken and can be restored, the network and data services settings can be kept.
