Symptoms

The symptoms will be, in addition to Windows Client share access or Solaris authentication failing, as a Windows ADS user:

wbinfo -i returns failed to call wbcGetpwnam: WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND
wbinfo -S on a SID returns failed to call wbcGetpwnam: WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND
getent passwd fails to return ADS user information
id -a ADS-Username will return invalid user name: Username

Winbind commands such wbinfo -u, -g, -t may still function correctly.

The Solaris 10 patches that would upgrade to Samba version 3.6.4 and possibly introduce the defect are 119757-22 (SPARC) and 119758-22 (X64) or later would have been installed.
