Goal

This document explains the Automated Diagnosis Service Request creation method for Solaris Operating System network IPMP issues. By answering some simple questions and uploading the required data using My Oracle Support, Automated Diagnosis will process the answers and data immediately after the Service Request is created.  Using this method will likely result in a quicker time to resolution than "traditional" Service Request (SR) creation methods.

Automated diagnostics refers to a set of scripts and analysis methodologies that are used to analyze a specific set of data. Uploading the exact data requested or providing error messages while logging the SR will expedite your service(see Data Requirements below). The exact data requested provides automation with all the necessary information to automatically diagnose an issue.  Incorrect data, such as a .txt file, .jpg file or screen snapshot(s) may provide some information, but can not be used for automated diagnosis. The automation process begins as soon as the requested data is supplied.

NOTE: Automated Diagnosis will not be utilized for severity 1 issues. If your issue is severity 1 your SR will be immediately routed to a technical support engineer for manual processing.
