Symptoms

When trying to switch a Solaris Cluster resource group that contains an Oracle server (SUNW.oracle_server) resource the switch fails.

node2 #  clrg switch -n node1 oradb-rg
clrg: (C748634) Resource group oradbrg failed to start on chosen node and might fail over to other node(s)

The node that the cluster was unable to start on will have messages in /var/adm/messages similar to the following.

May 16 07:15:16 node1 Cluster.RGM.global.rgmd: [ID 938318 daemon.error] Method <bin/oracle_server_start> failed on resource <oradb-srv-rs> in resource group <oradb-rg> [exit code <1>, time used: 1% of timeout <600 seconds>]
May 16 07:15:16 node1 Cluster.RGM.global.rgmd: [ID 443746 daemon.error] resource oradb-srv-rs state on node node1 change to R_START_FAILED

Look in the oracle_server log file to see if there is an ORA-00205 error.  The oracle_server log file can be found at the following location
/var/opt/SUNWscor/oracle_server/message_log.resource-name
