Goal

Premium features are bound to an ID, unique to a single array, called the Storage Array Feature Identifier (SAFE ID), also referred to as the Feature Enable Identifier (FEI). The FEI is stored in a private area called DACstore on all physical disks that contain array configuration metadata.

The FEI does not change under normal circumstances, but certain service actions may result in the generation of a new FEI. In such cases, it may be necessary to get new licenses as part of the recovery process.
