Patchadd failing with error saying an IDR is installed when one is not (Doc ID 1559707.1)

Symptoms

patchadd fails as follows...

Patch 119757-27 failed to install due to a failure produced by pkgadd.

See /var/sadm/patch/119757-27/log for details

Patchadd is terminating.

Looking at the log file we see...

# cat /var/sadm/patch/119757-27/log

This appears to be an attempt to install the same architecture and
version of a package which is already installed.  This installation
will attempt to overwrite this package.

ERROR: IDR 119757-27 cannot be applied until all        Interim Relief/Diagnostics are backed out.
Dryrun complete.
No changes were made to the system.
