Solaris Cluster 'df -k' Command is Reporting "cannot statvfs /global/.devices/node@X: I/O error" when One Node/System/Sever is Down (Doc ID 1667454.1)

Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)

Symptoms

On a two node or more node Solaris Cluster when one of the cluster nodes is down (or running outside  of cluster), commands like df, ls log IO errors. In this example the cluster nodeid 1 is down of a 2-node cluster.

On the other cluster nodeid 2 that is up and booted into cluster the df -k command is reporting this error:
