Oracle HSM (SAM-QFS): tplabel -erase Timeout Is Too Short on T10000 Tapes (Doc ID 1674730.1)

Symptoms

The 'tplabel -erase' option passes a SCSI ERASE command to the drive.  Oracle HSM (samfs) does not perform any secure wipe or erase function on it's own.  This '-erase' option erases the media completely, before a label is written.   This is a security feature that is normally not necessary.

Customer used the following command to erase a T10KC tape.
