How To Use Timesten "ttBackup" Command on Exalytics Server with Multiple TimesTen Installs (Doc ID 1908195.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2014

Applies to:

Oracle Exalytics Software - Version 1.0.0.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Using a single Exalytics server with three separate instances on bare metal server with three separate operating system users and separate directories.

Each TimesTen instance has a unique port and unique DSN.

When trying to backup the instance, will the following commands work and will TimesTen know which instance to backup?

$ cd /u01/app/oracledev/product/TimesTen/TTDEV/bin
$ ./ttBackup -type fileFullEnable -dir /u01/tt_backups/dev dsn=TT_AGGR_STORE

 Or should each DSN be uniquely named to differentiate the instance, (i.e. dev dsn - TT_AGGR_STORE_DEV)?
