Fatal Error Reset reported by (PCI-PBM) (Doc ID 1915266.1)

Symptoms

The system suffers a fatal error reset and a message is reported in the console logs. The messages file doesn't capture the error since this is an HW fatal reset and Solaris is stopped abruptly, and no orderly shutdown is performed. No FMA is involved.

Looking at the console logs in RSC (Remote System Control), the Fatal Error Reset points to the 'PCI-PBM' the PCI-PBM is related to the PCI Bridge chip.

From RSC we get the error below:

 

NOTE: the RSC should be configured appropriately to send the errors to RSC console.
