Solaris Cluster 'ls -l' Command Can be Slow on an ufs/pxfs global Filesystem when Listing a Directory Containing Many Files
Last updated on DECEMBER 18, 2017
Applies to:Solaris Cluster - Version 3.0 to 4.3 [Release 3.0 to 4.3]
Solaris Cluster Geographic Edition - Version 3.0 to 4.3 [Release 3.0 to 4.3]
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (32-bit)
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)
On an UFS filesystem mounted as a Solaris Cluster global filesystem (that is mounted with PXFS), ls -l of a directory containing about 245000 files is taking several minutes.
It takes the same amount of time if there is no pxfs secondary for that filesystem.
