Symptoms
During Enterprise Configuration Utility (ECU) discovery of a virtual Exalogic with Enhanced PDUs, discovery of the PDU assets fail. The Enterprise Manager Ops Center (EMOC) job fails the DriverDiscovery and PopulateModel tasks with a message similar to the following (typically one for each PDU):
Discovery driver reported: Power Distribution Unit discovery failed: Could not enable SNMP management on PDU: Failed to set SNMP Management, driver=PDUDriver:Knuerr, at target x.x.x.x (where x.x.x.x is the PDU IP address). (10137)
Changes
Enhanced PDUs were added to Exalogic in 2014, typically on newer Exalogic X4-2 and replaced legacy PDUs. While this will typically be seen on Exalogic X4-2 (or newer systems), customers who upgrade or replace their PDUs may also experience this issue.
