EMC LUNZ will not collapse to MPxIO virtual path after changed to data LUN (Doc ID 2029088.1)

Symptoms

Customer reports they have enabled MPxIO but it is not working for LUN 0 on their EMC storage. 

Other LUNs are assigned to MPxIO virtual controller as expected.

The LUN 0 device is showing up as "Path status: O.K." in 'luxadm display' output, which is a clue to this scenario :

 

Changes

EMC LUN 0 was recently converted from a LUNZ (non-data LUN 0) to a data LUN, and a reboot has not yet been performed.
