EM (Enterprise Manager) Discovery of Exalytics Fails with Error: "Could not discover ILOM. (Doc ID 2053919.1)

While trying to discover an Exalytics server after following the standard Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Managing Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine with Oracle Enterprise Manager documentation, The discover Exalytics System: Step 2 failed with the below error. However it is possible to login into ILOM using the provided address and credentials.

Error: Could not discover ILOM.
Reason: Encountered an error while connecting to ILOM. The specified ILOM IP address or host name is incorrect. Enter a valid IP address or host name, and try again.
