Unable to lock files over NFSv3 mount(s) - processes hang attempting a lock.
(Doc ID 2073394.1)
Last updated on FEBRUARY 06, 2019
Applies to:
Solaris Operating System - Version 10 3/05 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
A Network File system (NFS) client file locks over NFSv3 mounts are not succeeding, and processes attempting to lock files are hanging waiting for a lock to complete. The hung process should be able to be killed, but the file lock it requested won't be available.
Changes
No competing locks on the file in question are present - the:
command shows nothing on the client or on Solaris NFS server for that client. No changes are apparent, although it's possible a name service problem is present that did not exist earlier.
