Symptoms

NOTE: In the examples that follow, user details, cluster names, hostnames, directory paths, filenames, etc. represent a fictitious sample (and are used to provide an illustrative example only). Any similarity to actual persons, or entities, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.

The symptoms are that after the cable between the switch <RACK_NAME>sw-ib2 and Port 2 of the BDA server is replaced due to Port 2 being down as indicated by ibstat the following are observed:

1.bdacheckcluster fails with: ERROR: 2 virtual NICs not available on host <HOSTNAMEx>.

Changes

This happens after replacing the cable between the switch <RACK_NAME>sw-ib2 and Port 2 of the BDA server because ibstat showed that Port 2 was down.
