Solaris boot may fail due to a hardware fault in the Single-Ended Ultra Wide SCSI/Fast Ethernet SunSwift (FreshChoice) Host Bus Adapter. This can happen even when the target of the OBP boot command is not attached to the FreshChoice HBA.

Symptoms

Messages such as these from the ISP SCSI Host Bus Adapter Driver early in the Solaris boot sequence may indicate faulty HBA hardware:
