FS System: Newly added drives in a Drive Enclosure display a status of UNSUPPORTED (Doc ID 2190111.1)

Symptoms

Newly installed drives report as UNSUPPORTED in Oracle FS System Manager GUI and FSCLI. Overall system status changes to WARNING after the drives are added.

Note: This document applies only for newly added DRIVE enclosure and for the newly added drives to an existing SSD enclosure in order to expand the capacity.

Verify using Oracle FS System Manager GUI :

  1. Login to FS Manager GUI
  2. Go to System tab >Hardware >Drive Enclosure
  3. Select Enclosure > right click and select View
  4. Click on the newly installed DRIVE and verify the status

Verify using Oracle FS System Manager CLI (FSCLI) :

 

Changes

The addition of a new drive enclosure or insertion of additional drives into an existing drive enclosure (in the case of SSD).
