Exalytics Release 2.0.0.0.0 - OVM Server Upgraded from 3.2.8 to 3.2.9 But Kernel and OL Version Remain Unchanged (Doc ID 2200794.1)

Symptoms

Upgraded an Oracle Exalytics X4-4 server from Patchset (PS) 5 with OVM version 3.2.8 to Exalytics Release 2.0.0.0.0 and OVM 3.2.9. <Patch 20618011> was used to upgrade the image, but the upgrade fails to update the Linux release and kernel version to the expected versions.

The update.sh shows successful completion and after rebooting the server, the Exalytics image version is correct:


After upgrade, the expected Linux version is 5.11 with kernel version 2.6.39-400.248.3.el5uek x86_64.
