SPARC S7-2, SPARC S7-2L and Netra SPARC S7-2, onboard network interfaces not visible in Solaris after installation

Symptoms
After installation of Oracle Solaris 11.3 image on Sparc S7-2, Sparc S7-2L or Netra Sparc S7-2 Servers the onboard Network interfaces are not visible (configured) in Solaris.
- no faults have been reported and the interfaces are visible in OBP:
{0} ok show-nets
a) /pci@300/pci@1/pci@0/pci@1/network@0,3
b) /pci@300/pci@1/pci@0/pci@1/network@0,2
c) /pci@300/pci@1/pci@0/pci@1/network@0,1
d) /pci@300/pci@1/pci@0/pci@1/network@0
- in OS, no entries for the devices exist in /etc/path_to_inst
- prtdiag shows the network interface devices, but they are not configured:
