'zfs mount -a' May Fail In Non-Global Zones With "Insufficient Privileges' When 'add fs' Filesystems Have Parent or Child Datasets with 'mountpoint != legacy' (Doc ID 2278312.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 19, 2023

Applies to:

Solaris Operating System - Version 10 3/05 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

If the issue described in this document is encountered, non-global zones may fail to boot and stop in maintenance mode because the filesystem/local SMF service goes in to maintenance mode.  Use 'zlogin -C <ZONE>' to get to the console and login as root (s10) or a user with a root role (11.x).  Running 'svcs -x' will display all services in maintenance mode that need to be addressed.
