Configuring Apache and Tomcat Log Rotation for Secure Global Desktop Deployments on Oracle Linux
(Doc ID 2287854.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 02, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 5.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
Secure Global Desktop (SGD) is bundled with several third party components to facilitate webservices integration and a seamless 'out of the box' experience, including the Apache webserver and Tomcat JavaServer Pages (JSP) technology container.
While a standard installation of SGD will automatically rotate the SGD-specific logs, there is no such mechanism for the independent Apache and Tomcat component. This document outlines the procedure to configure Apache and Tomcat log rotation for SGD deployments on Oracle Linux, specifically for the access_log and error_logs of Apache, which may grow to a substantial size over time.
Supported Oracle Linux platforms can be found in the Oracle Secure Global Desktop Release Notes at: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/documentation/sgd-193668.html
