Solaris Cluster 3.x and 4.x Cluster Device IDs (DID) For Some Devices Are Inconsistent Across nodes (Doc ID 2326454.1)

Last updated on MAY 09, 2024

Applies to:

Solaris Cluster - Version 3.3 U1 to 4.4 [Release 3.3 to 4.4]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After adding shared storage devices, disks or luns there are inconsistencies in cluster disk ids aka "DID". Some nodes show different DID names for the same luns. It is expected that Solaris Cluster creates a single DID disk device id for the shared storage across all nodes of the cluster. It is a single unique id regardless of what the solaris device name c*t*d* is.
