Last updated on JULY 06, 2023
Applies to:
Solaris Operating System - Version 11 11/11 to 11.3 [Release 11.0]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When trying to increase existing individual swap volumes, the commands do not reflect the increased volume size.
Customer might run the following to increase swap:
and performs a swapadd, volume output in swap -lh shows correct size, but this requires removing swap entirely, which is not always feasible.
For smaller swap increases, there is no issue, but when swap increase is larger than 1TB, it is not properly reflected.
When the system reboots, swap shows the proper size.
