Secure Global Desktop (SGD): Users Report that Numlock Keyboard State is Inverted if Enabled at Application Launch (Doc ID 2396778.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 16, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 5.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The Secure Global Desktop (SGD) Administrator receives reports that users find their keyboard's Numlock state is inverted after launching a Windows application provisioned via Secure Global Desktop.

In this scenario, the user connects to SGD with their NUMLOCK state as ENABLED (light on), but the launched application shows the functionality disabled.  Subsequent presses of the NUMLOCK button will toggle this status, but it will always remain out of sync.

Note: In this scenario, the behavior is only seen when the user attempts the launch with NUMLOCK engaged.  If, however, this local state is disabled prior to launch, users subsequent toggles of the key will work as expected within the application session.

The application server that demonstrated this behavior was Windows 2012 R2.
