FS System: Procedure to Manually Update Controller ILOM Version
(Doc ID 2396863.1)
Last updated on APRIL 05, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System - Version 6.2 to 6.2 [Release 6.2]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Purpose
To provide a method to upgrade Controller ILOM version without taking an outage.
Scope
Under normal conditions, upgrading the ILOM version on an FS1-2 Controller is part of a Disruptive Upgrade. But there have been and will be times when customers cannot take the outage but require a fix in the ILOM code for a particular release. For example:
- 3.2.6.32 r109399 in R6.2.11 to get the SPX86-8002-5C fix
- 3.2.9.21 r117708 in R6.2.13 to get the ILOM preboot hang fix
- 4.0.4.25 r127388 in R6.2.20 to get the newer Ethernet driver for the controller and the Spectre/Meltdown CVE fixes
This procedure assumes that a Non-Disruptive Upgrade (NDU) has already taken place and that multi-path software has been installed and tested. It is not recommended to attempt this procedure on FS1-2 systems below R6.2.11.
