Goal

 The goal of this document is to provide instructions on how to update exachk on the Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA or Recovery Appliance) outside of the regular install, patching or upgrade procedures.

 It’s recommended to

  1. Upgrade if there’s a new exachk version
  2. Run exachk and review output on a monthly basis
  3. Run exachk prior and after a Recovery Appliance upgrade and address critical issues

Recovery Appliance exachk will have

  1. Recovery Appliance Software Recommendations and Alerts
  2. Recovery Appliance health and configuration checks
  3. Exadata health and configuration checks relevant to a Recovery Appliance

Recovery Appliance exachk is an operational best practices to maintain a healthy and efficient Recovery Appliance.

 Download latest version of exachk
 1. Stage the validated exachk versions on ALL compute nodes
 2. Cleanup the exachk directory on ALL compute nodes
 3. Create the exachk directory on ALL compute nodes
 4. Set the permissions for the exachk directory on ALL compute nodes
 5. Unizip the exachk.zip file into the exachk directory on ALL compute nodes
 6. Confirm that exachk was upgraded on ALL compute nodes
 Run exachk on the First compute nodes
