Database Processes Are Taking Long Time to Commit (Doc ID 2402258.1)

Symptoms

Earlier database commit use to happen within fraction of seconds now a large number of database processes appear stuck waiting for their  commit to complete.  Vmstat also shows a large number of thread waiting in biowait ( 'b' column ).

Changes

The host was changed from single path without Veritas to the vx multi pathing
