Addendum: The patches described in this document were originally published in February 2019.  This "hotfix" solution has since been superseded by a subsequent maintenance roll-up for SGD 5.4, PSU 4.  This original document has been intentionally archived and preserved as a reference to these legacy updates.

Administrators, who are looking for the latest maintenance updates available for the Secure Global Desktop product are encouraged to review:

  > (Doc ID 2093579.2) - Oracle Secure Global Desktop, Release Announcement Reference

The Secure Global Desktop sustaining team has released a hotfix update for Secure Global Desktop (SGD) 5.4p3.

This patch resolves a defect wherein users may be presented with a NullPointerException while attempting to edit their user profile within the SGD Workspace after the deployment has been updated with PSU 3 for SGD 5.4 (January 2019).

The PSU introduced support for signed data parameters used in managing user sessions. In some environments, this change introduced unexpected behavior within the Profile Editor on user workspaces. This behavior was investigated and resolved within Defect 29311598.

This platform-independent hotfix resolves this behavior, and will be integrated within a forthcoming maintenance roll-up for Secure Global Desktop.

Scope

The information and instructions outlined in this document are intended for the SGD Administrator.

Important Notes:
  1. SGD Patches are not replicated between array nodes: these steps must be completed on each SGD server within an array, independently.
  2. SGD Patches may only be installed after SGD Services have been completely stopped. As such, Oracle strongly recommends  that this action be taken during a planned maintenance window.
  3. SGD Administrators should review the README bundled with every patch to ensure there are no patch-specific installation requirements.
