SPARC T5-2 Server Hangs with 32GB Solid State Disks SSD Having vendor_ID: SSSD2AHS30G2S1 and Product_ID: BNIET (Doc ID 2507791.1)

Symptoms

A T5-2 running Solaris 11.4 may experience a hang condition that does not allow the user to run any OS commands, if any Solid State Disk(s) (SSD) with Vendor_ID: SSSD2AHS30G2S1 and Product_ID: BNIET is installed as an internal SAS disk.  Operations related to Logical Domains (LDOMs), that are configured to boot from an external SAN storage can continue to function normally without any impact on Operating Environment running under such domains.

The format command will show the following output related to the SSD disks:

       AVAILABLE DISK SELECTIONS:

You will find the following entries("failed to reset") on the internal disk in the /var/adm/messages file logs shortly before the system hung:
