Solaris 11.4 panic when starting 3rd party kernel module (ktap or krg) (Doc ID 2542781.1)

Symptoms

Running Solaris 11.4 with certain versions of 3rd party kernel modules may result in system panic.  The typical panic stack will pass incorrect value from the 3rd party module to socket file system function so_sendmblk().

The panic string will be: BAD TRAP
