Exalogic Virtual 2.0.6.4.X: Jan 2019 PSU Installation for compute node fails due to booting incorrect kernel (Doc ID 2567497.1)

Symptoms

January 2019 PSU on 2.0.6.4.0 failed during compute node OS patching.

While running PSU 2.0.6.4.190115 a problem was encountered during the "Compute Node Base Image" update.

All pre-checks passed, but the patching failed.

At first the Firmware did not completed, with IB and Disk firmware not upgrading, as shown below:
 

 

January 2019 PSU compute node supported kernel is "4.1.12-124.24.1.el6uek.x86_64", and system is booting to previous kernel "4.1.12-112.14.13.el6uek.x86_64"

 

Changes

January 2019 PSU patching has been applied.
