Is there a procedure for migrating users from a ME To a MEC ? (Doc ID 2574927.1)

Goal

When a Mediation Engine (ME) is joined to a Mediation Engine Connector (MEC), the users on the MEC overwrite the users on the ME.  Is there away to transfer the ME users to the MEC before joining the MEC so they are not lost ?
