The inactive Unix user can login to SGD unexpectedly (Doc ID 2661417.1)

Last updated on JUNE 17, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Global Desktop - Version 4.6 to 5.4 [Release 4.0 to 5.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

System admin may find that SGD does not check the inactive settings for UNIX users.

For example, for a UNIX user which has below record in the /etc/shadow.

The user has not logged into the system for more than 30 days and currently the user's password is not expired.
It has been confirmed that the user access is denied when trying to ssh to the server.
The user can login to SGD but cannot launch gnome-terminal hosted on the local server(the login user input pop-up will show up).
So it indicates SGD does not check if the user is inactive during login to SGD workspace.
