Symptoms

After reducing logrotate file depth to 5 files (from default 13) and removing older files from /var to clear space, the SOAM after a time re-asserted the MN 32500 Server Disk Space Shortage Warning alarm as it crossed 80% threshold in /var/.

Looking in the /var/log/messages* files, found rapid audit daemon entries of this variety:

 The server was recently recovered from a 'disk full' condition in /var/ where the filesystem was at or near 100% consumed.
