SFTP connection failing with FILEZILLA And WINSCP Clients after upgrading SBC's to 8.4 release. (Doc ID 2727089.1)

Symptoms

SBC rejecting the SFTP connection from FILEZILLA and WINSCP Clients after upgrading to 8.4 release.

Status: Connecting to 10.X.X.X
Response: fzSftp started
Command: open "admin@10.X.X.X" 22
Error: Network error: Software caused connection abort
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Waiting to retry...
Status: Delaying connection for 1 second due to previously failed connection attempt...
Status: Connecting to 10.X.X.X...
Response: fzSftp started
Command: open "admin@10.X.X.X" 22
Error: Network error: Software caused connection abort
Error: Could not connect to server

 

Using filezilla, it received the following error:


Error: Server unexpectedly closed network connection
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Waiting to retry...
Status: Connecting to 10.X.X.X...
Response: fzSftp started, protocol_version=8
Command: open "admin@10.X.X.X" 22
Error: Server unexpectedly closed network connection
Error: Could not connect to server

 

In some cases you can find below error messages in logs"

[GENERAL] (0) sshd[5430]: fatal: No supported key exchange algorithms found

Changes

In 8.3 release we had insecure key-exchange and hmac algorithms set as default.

SBC 8.4 release supports below algorithms by default.

hmac-algorithms hmac-sha2-256
keyex-algorithms diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha256
