Last updated on NOVEMBER 27, 2022

Applies to:

Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

There are a few orphaned media showing in the library.  When trying to move the media by providing VOLID in RcvrMove tab and selecting CAP as destination,  getting "CAP is in use by another requestor".

Changes

--> If the CAPs are assigned to the partition, you may need to de-select it on the SL console.

Note :

Manual moves of data cartridges to and from the CAP should not be done. The Host should manage all CAP operations for customer data cartridges, the library cartridge database has to be managed by the Host to keep the cartridge database in sync and accessible. This message indicates the CAP was reserved to a host when a manual move operation was attempted. Since the CAP is architected as a shared resource CAP operations is only allowed by the Reserver of the CAP.
