Symptoms

The service is reported in maintenance by "svcs -xv":

#svcs -xv

svc:/system/polkit:default (PolKit)

State: maintenance since March 18, 2021 at 9:03:47 AM PDT

Reason: Restarting too quickly.

See: http://support.oracle.com/msg/SMF-8000-L5

See: man -M /usr/share/man -s 8 polkitd

See: /var/svc/log/system-polkit:default.log

Impact: This service is not running.

Checking svc log file does not reveal any possible cause:

/var/svc/log/system-polkit:default.log

[ 2021 Mar 11 14:03:00 Method "start" exited with status 0. ]

[ 2021 Mar 11 14:03:00 Stopping because all processes in service exited. ]

[ 2021 Mar 11 14:03:00 Executing stop method (:kill). ]

[ 2021 Mar 11 14:03:00 Restarting too quickly, changing state to maintenance. ]
