Goal
The goal of the document is to migrate OVM guests from ODA Virtualized Platform (VP) deployments to KVM on ODA Bare Metal (BM) deployments.
This document applies to
- ODA 19.14 and lower BM target releases when ODA is re-provisioned from ODA VP
- all ODA BM releases when guests are migrated from an ODA Virtual Platform deployment to another ODA deployed as Bare Metal
Please note that the migration is automated in ODA Release 19.15 if same ODA is reprovisioned with ODA BM from ODA VP. Refer to Migrating from Virtualized Platform to KVM on Oracle Database Appliance
Even using the automated procedure of ODA Release 19.15, install the virtio driver for Windows by following the configuration steps described in this note before migrating a Microsoft Windows VM.
