Auto-cleaning Tape Drives Without Interfering Oracle HSM

Symptoms
As per Doc ID 2625869.1 the drive cleaning has now to be initiated by the library itself, instead from Oracle HSM. This leads to following issue:
-> a tape has being loaded in a drive
-> a cleaning request is being issued for that specific drive
-> the tape has to be unloaded to fulfill the request
-> drive cleaning takes place, the cleaning tape is being unloaded afterwards
-> Oracle HSM still assumes the original tape is being loaded
-> after some (idle) time Oracle HSM is about to unload the tape, which fails, as the tape isn't present anymore - drive is marked as DOWN
How can this be circumvented?
P. S.
Setting the drive online again will fail as well, as the unload request is still present.
