Symptoms

Solaris may panic with BAD TRAP in scsi_sense_vu_class_1() due to a NULL pointer dereference. Panic stack:

This issue can occur in the following releases:

SPARC Platform

    Solaris 11.4.27.82.1 thru 11.4.38.101.6

x86 Platform

    Solaris 11.4.27.82.1 thru 11.4.38.101.6

ZFS Storage Appliance (ZFSSA)

    AK Software OS8.8.27 thru OS8.8.38

 

Note 1: Condition which triggers SCSI sense response to a SCSI INQUIRY command completion.

Note 2: The SCSI target must be attached with a Sun Common SCSI Architecture version 3 (SCSAv3) compliant driver.

Note 3: This issue does not affect Fibre Channel attached devices as the Solaris Fibre Channel drivers are not SCSAv3 compliant.

Note 4: This issue does not affect Solaris 10.
