VirtualBox: Network Connection To Client Interrupted Prematurely When Closing VM Session (Doc ID 2959231.1)

Symptoms

Network connection to client is interrupted prematurely.  When closing a virtual machine you get the selection, what to do... "Continue running in the background" "Save the machine state" "Send shutdown signal" "Power off the machine".  During the time the pop-up dialog appears but before you have make a decision, the machine’s connection is interrupted. This behavior is confirmed with a permanent "ping" getting interrupted. If the dialog is cancelled, the network connection is re-established after 1 or 2 seconds.
