The IBM z16 processor introduced 32GB FICON channels. Does VSM take advantage of that solution?
Symptoms
Customer is upgrading to IBM z16 processor and needs to know if Oracle's VSM solution operates appropriately without issue.
Changes
The IBM z16 processor introduced 32Gb FICON, but that should not be an issue with the VSM7 which is 16Gb capable & the VSM6 which is 8Gb capable.
The Z16 is capable of auto-negotiating down to 16 gb and 8Gb.
