Symptoms

ExaWatcher SMF service is in the Maintenance state

    svc:/system/ExaWatcher:default (ExaWatcher)
    State: maintenance since Fri Mar  8 02:05:32 2024
    Reason: Restarting too quickly.
      See: http://support.oracle.com/msg/SMF-8000-L5
      See: /var/svc/log/system-ExaWatcher:default.log
    Impact: This service is not running.

# cat /var/svc/log/system-ExaWatcher:default.log
    ...
    ./ExaWatcher.sh: line 326: /usr/perl5/5.12/bin/perl-threaded: No such file or directory
    Error in the execution module!
       Aborting......

Changes

The "/usr/bin/perl" link was to the Perl version that was not installed in the system, or it was installed manually or during third-party application implementation.

# ls -l /usr/bin/perl
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     root          27 Jun 14  2023 /usr/bin/perl -> /usr/local/perl524/bin/perl

The following perl package versions installed:

# pkg list runtime/perl-*
runtime/perl-512                                  5.12.5-11.4.39.0.1.107.0   i-r <<<-----r =(renamed)
runtime/perl-532                                  5.32.0-11.4.42.0.1.113.0   i--
